Taylored Air recently completed a comprehensive preventative maintenance service on a UUD heat pump in Lincolnton, North Carolina. During the inspection, they ensured that the defrost function, capacitor, and electric strips were all working properly. The 10 KW system’s drain was functioning efficiently, and both the coils and filter were clean. However, a slight mold growth was detected inside the air handler. To prevent further mold spread, a UV light installation was recommended. Regular maintenance like this helps keep heating systems in top condition for better efficiency and reliability.

On September 25, 2024, Taylored Air performed preventative maintenance on a Ruud heat pump in Lincolnton, NC. The system was running well, but there was slight mold growth on the air handler. To address this, a UV light was installed, which will prevent further mold growth and eliminate the existing mold. The system continued to run smoothly after the maintenance.

The homeowner wants something more energy efficient. TAYLORED AIR is offering options for a variable speed Bosch and Friedrich system. This new system could help reduce energy costs and improve comfort levels in the home.

In Gastonia, NC, TAYLORED AIR responded to an after-hour emergency on August 22, 2024. The Ruud 14 SEER heat pump was freezing up due to a bad x13 blower motor. The unit, installed in 2016, lacked a filter place. TAYLORED AIR added a filter rack, cleaned the evaporator coil, and installed a P trap. They also cleaned the drain line. The system, which was under warranty, is now working great.

On August 13, 2024, TAYLORED AIR provided expert HVAC services in Hickory, NC. They installed a 15 Seer Bosch variable speed heat pump and a 2-stage ADP air handler. On August 12, 2024, in Hickory, North Carolina, Taylored Air handled a leaking issue with a Ruud outdoor unit. The leak was traced to the U-bend and the shader valve, which was causing the unit to be completely empty. The shader valve was replaced; however, the customer decided not to proceed with further repairs.

2000 Rheem heat pump not cooling
System running as good as possible. System 25 years old. Filter was extremely dirty possibly causing it to not work as well on hotter days. Refrigerant was close to what it should be. Recommend looking into a new system since old system is 25 years old.

Blower control board was bad in Goodman unit. Overflow pan was also filled up causing pan switch to shut it off. Thermostat was also the wrong type of thermostat for this unit. Replaced control board pulled all the water out and flushed the drain. Also swapped to a new Honeywell T4 thermostat. System running good and cooling now

Installed a 3 ton 20 Seer Bosch variable speed heat pump in Sherrills ford today. Added a Ion producing air cleaner in the duct work paired with a full duct cleaning job to maximize on indoor air quality.
